Finally had time to come and read this (I wanted an evening to enjoy and soak it in, and I was right to wait for it). Lovely -- wonderful details (just what I love most), the Egyptian touches (his ka, and ren), and the etymology of observer back to prot-Indo (and ser, to protect)...really nice touch that he's already aware of a role he's undertaken.

And terrific layering of emotions, both for Daniel and Sha're -- her awe of him, still, as well as the fact that he's so willing to learn from her, to follow her. And I love his taking her hand at the end.
