Just sent off a sample chapter to a prospective client, YAY.

As we're halfway through Chanukah, how about some happy drabble prompts? Anything SG-1 based (and gen, heh). No holiday themes - just something happy!

cassie discovers soap bubbles or sizzlers or jewelry kiddles or stained glass or something uniquely earthlike and purely fun.

Cassie runs a finger across the sheets of brightly-colored stickers. There are puffy ones, glittery ones, and some that change if you tip your head sideways. All beautiful. And, as far as she can tell, completely useless.

"What are they for?" she finally asks.

Janet hugs her. "They're just for fun, honey."

Back on Hanka, Cassie's village lived from hand to mouth, saving any surplus for the inevitable hard times. She'd never owned anything that wasn't purely useful. Here on Earth, though, people bought pretty things just for fun!

Amazing.

She can't but smile as she hugs Janet back.

i know that janet (and jack!!!) must have so loved introducing her to FUN THINGS. after everything she'd been through. I wish canon had given us more of her. I know they all kind of took turns taking care of her.

Yes - so canon, with Jack and his "every Earth kid has to have a dog." You just know they all loved spoiling her rotten, and part of that includes the fun things of life.
