Crossover Alphabet Soup: when is the best time for signups?

We'll be having SG-1 Gen Fic Day in late January, complete with a new kind of Alphabet Soup - this time with crossovers! It's going to be a little more complicated to arrange signups this time, as claims will be not for for a letter, but also for a crossover fandom. I think there's a lot of potential here for some really fun ficlets. :)

Thing is, I'm not sure when to put up the entry for claiming letters/fandoms. A lot of people are still recovering from NaNo; others are busy with seasonal-based gift exchanges. So part of me thinks it would be better to wait until the end of the month. On the other hand, there are people who prefer more writing time or aren't committed, and waiting until later might make people feel all ficathon'd out after the December rush...

So. A poll here for anyone who thinks they might want to write a minimum of 100 words for Crossover Alphabet Soup. You're not committing yourself by taking the poll, but if you abhor crossovers or never write fanfic, you might want to skip this. :) I'm crossposting the poll to both LJ and DW, so if you read my entries at both sites, please only take the poll once.

Interesting! So is it going to be 'A is for apple, B is for books' (kind of thing), as usual, with crossovers claimed separately, or will it be 'A is for Stargate Atlantis, B is for Babylon 5'? Or something else? I'm just nosey. :)

Both, I think. So someone could do, frex, "Q is for Quantum Leap" or "Z is for Ziggy" if they'd prefer. I will need to have two lists during signups - which letters were claimed, and which fandoms were claimed. Hopefully it won't get too messy. :)

I think this does have the potential to be a lot of fun. we'll see if I'm right, heh.
