I didn't manage to post a monthly review in February, so here are two months' worth of fic and recs and fandom:

fic )

Fic that I recced in the last two months over at [info]stargateficrec: Five things, episode related, Sam and Vala friendship, and Jack and Daniel friendship. Links are to the recs at [personal profile] figs_sg1_rec; the master list of the rec archive is actually up to date. 566 recs and counting... :)

In other gen rec news, [community profile] sg1genrecs had a very prolific month - go and check it out! It's now open theme time, so if you want to rec a favorite gen fic, now's your chance.

On the fandom side of things, redial_the_gate has been redialing the last half of S6, including my own recap of Changeling. :) It's been a real treat, watching so much SG-1 for the first time. I've really enjoyed getting to know Jonas - he certainly hasn't taken Daniel's place in my heart, but you know what? He never tried. I won't belittle the hurt and betrayal that Daniel fangirls might have felt when S5-6 first aired, but Jonas certainly doesn't deserve even five percent of the sheer vitriol he gets from various parts of the fandom. And with no insult intended to Mitchell and Vala fangirls, I like S6 a lot more than S9-10! :)

Which brings me to Jonas Alphabet Soup, which is going live on April 7th, our upcoming SG-1 Gen Fic Day. So far, 25 letters have been claimed. I'm still looking for someone to claim Y. If you would like to write a minimum of 100 words on Jonas by the 7th, please sign up! And if Jonas isn't your thing, don't forget that Gen Fic Day welcomes new fic, older fic, recs, meta, vids - anything, as long as it's gen and related to SG-1.

Pesach starts tomorrow night, but I'll try to get online once or twice during the intermediate days. Meanwhile, I wish all those of you who celebrate Pesach a chag kosher v'sameach. :)
