Alphabet Soup update

Just to keep all our patient cooks informed...

Episode Alphabet Soup is currently missing four letters. Of those four, I have messages from two of the authors to let me know that their stories should be up today; I have sent messages to the other two volunteers to find out the status of their stories. I have a backup fic ready to go and another author who has volunteered to write a backup if necessary. Meanwhile, what we do have of the Soup is mostly coded; I just need to add HTML to link episodes to their stories. We're already at 36,500 words, because you people are awesome! :D

So be patient, please. Hopefully it won't take much longer to get the anthology posted.

In the meantime, though, those of you on AO3 may add your stories to the Alphabet Soup collection that wyomingnot created back in February. That's optional, of course; many of our cooks (like me, heh) aren't even on AO3 in the first place. But have fun if you are. :)

They Don't Come Back, by Eilidh. Missing scene from Fallen: a quiet moment between Jack and Reynolds.

On the Outside, Looking In (Season Eight), by your gen enabler. :). A drabble from an outsider's POV for every S8 episode.

You Can't Always Get What You Want, by Betacandy. PG-13, and the ultimate Moebius fix!

Numerology is probably my all-time favorite Random fic. It's a study of Jack, doing a study of Daniel, within the context of the ten failures who tried to join SG-1 before Jonas made the team. PG-13.

Son of Endless Sky is an absolutely stunning outsider POV of just!descended!Daniel, who needs to be anchored to reality. PG.

Minervacat's Look to the Heavens and Number the Stars is a wonderful outsider perspective of the SGC. C'mon, the SGC's librarian. Can you resist that? :) PG-13.

Everything is a Transition by Neovenus follows Izzy Satterfield from the events in Proving Ground and onwards. Lovely characterization, PG.

Determination and Determination: Practicality are outtakes of an AU COTG in which Daniel is taken, rather Sha're, and she fights her way into acknowledgment at the SGC. PG, references Daniel/Sha're.

Another great Sha're AU is Magistrate's Of Dreams and Desperations, in which Sam confronts Amaunet in FIAD instead of Daniel and is taken prisoner. PG-13.

And Tafkar's is probably the ultimate Sha're AU: One Dimension Removed, which rewrites the entire first season with Sha're as part of SG-1. PG-13/R, and heed the warnings for certain chapters.
