Fifty, Daniel? Seriously? No one thought you'd get that far!

(Or possibly 49, as defining "four and a half years old" in the summer of '69 when he was born in the summer is, eh, a bit iffy. But 50 sounds better. So there.)

Comment here with your favorite Daniel fic/vid/meta/picspam. Or just general squee about Daniel will work, too. :D I'll post a roundup tomorrow!

To kick things off, some of my favorite Daniel fics:

Son of Endless Sky, by [personal profile] rydra_wong. Yeah, yeah, it's marked as J/D UST, but I think that's mostly because it's a remix of a J/D fic. My gen glasses have NO PROBLEM. :) It is a stunning outside perspective of Descended!Daniel and is just beautifully written.

Daniel of Abydos. by Nightspear. Despite my general dislike for kidfic, I love this AU so much. You get five novel-length books that cover seven years' worth of SG-1. Instead of dumbing down our Daniel, Nightspear rewrites history, so that Daniel is born on Abydos and first meets the rest of the team as a teenager. Events spiral in completely different directions because of that change, and I love every minute of it. The link is for the first 4 books on AO3; you can find the last one here.

Beside me, singing in the wilderness, by Rigel. I love Daniel's relationship with Skaara. This is just so evocative with gorgeous imagery.

And let's not forget Niamaea's gleeful Daniel picspam: Everybody's crazy 'bout a sharp dressed man.

Son of Endless Sky is on my 'fics I wish I'd written' list. And I was just thinking about Niamaea's fashion commentary!

Dang. Is self-promotion okay? I've made two Daniel vids.

Once in a Lifetime and The Man Who Would Be King

Thank you! Two are among my faves (Nightspear and Niamaea), but the other two stories I didn't know, so yay! added to my reading list.
