Further adventures at AO3

I just posted my 50th fic to AO3, starting from back in 2007 with my very first SG-1 story and going forwards, one fic a day (more or less) at a time. I'm only halfway through 2009 now. Good grief, I used to be prolific.

It's been an interesting experience so far. I am charmed by the statistics page and it's interesting to see how some fics are better received now than when they were first posted (and vice versa). Getting kudos e-mails are fun, because I can tell when one person is browsing through my stories, and it's certainly a nice way to start my morning. :) I can't make up my mind about kudos themselves; are they a plus, because it's nice feedback that you wouldn't get otherwise? Or a minus, because less people bother with actual comments? Or a combination of both, which is probably the reality.

Also, old friends rereading my old stories and commenting on occasion are an absolute joy.

In any case, it's nice to reach a milestone like 50. :) My next fic up will be on Sunday, and that will be my stargate_summer fic and I am SO EXCITED to have written something new and substantive, finally.

I love the stats page at AO3. I hear you on "wow, I used to write so much!" My issue is that I'm really close to burnout right now, and also I'm terrible at writing without an external deadline so my own stories never get written out while ficathon stories do. Sigh.

Oh, I hear you on the ficathon thing! It took me two years of SG-1 fannish writing before I wrote a story that wasn't prompted from something - someone's birthday, ficlets by request, a ficathon, etc. It was a very good feeling. Still doesn't happen too often, though.
