Interesting, but given that approximately 99% of all science reporting (even in otherwise-good newspapers and blogs) inevitably exaggerate or misrepresent the results in some critical fashion, I'm not holding my breath.
I mean, it would be a great fic plot, but that doesn't require the actual real-world technology to be up to snuff.
