It's been a relatively quiet month. Trust me: April will be quieter. :)

In fandom

[livejournal.com profile] jacksamfriends! [livejournal.com profile] phoenix_gate! The former is going live shortly, and I've written about two sentences. The latter is live now (with great fics there, go read!) and mine's not even started yet.

No comment on [livejournal.com profile] stargate_summer. Ow.

At least I got the call for prompts for the upcoming Janet Alphabet Soup accomplished! We'll have sign-ups some time in mid-April and Janet Alphabet Soup, together with SG-1 Gen Fic Day, will take place some time in May.

In fic

Birthday fics can be a little frustrating (hi there, post-Serpent's Venom ficlet that was supposed to be done in time for Abyssis' birthday!), but I very much doubt I would've written anything this month if it hadn't been for [livejournal.com profile] annerbhp's and [livejournal.com profile] randomfreshink's birthdays. Well done, you two, being born this month! :)

Undercover. Team cuddling fic in which Teal'c triumphs (naturally).

Grounded. Daniel/Sha'uri, following the final scene of the movie. One of my writing goals for this year was finding Sha're's voice. Between this story and last month's young Sha'uri fic, I'm feeling very happy about getting there.

In recs: Daniel and Gen

I celebrated a double milestone this month: three years of reccing at [livejournal.com profile] stargateficrec, and my 450th rec! (Obsessed? Me?)

The links here lead to the fully detailed recs at the rec archive. The master list of fic recs, which is current through February, is split in two because of LJ posting constraints: fics titled A-M and fics titled N-Z. If you want to search by character or genre, try the tags at [livejournal.com profile] figs_sg1_rec.

Daniel Jackson recs

The Parting Glass, by Redbyrd (PG)

Daniel's Desk, a Visual Exploration, by Thraesja (PG)

Untitled Daniel/Sha'uri, by Pepper Field (PG)

Hieroglyphics, by Lokei (G)

Assorted Five Things, by Emily (G)

Brotherhood, by Nightspear (PG)

Previous Daniel Jackson recs are here, here, here, here, and here. That doesn't include "Daniel and [insert SG-1 team member here] friendship" rec months. If you want to explore further, try the tags at [livejournal.com profile] figs_sg1_rec.

Gen recs

Xenophilia , by Annerb (G)

Whose Turn Is It to Be Rescued This Time?, by Wonderland (PG)

Three things Jack doesn't know about the quantum mirror, and one he does, by Chocolatekettle (G)

The Universe is Infinite, by Maya (G)

Oh Danny Boy, by Fairyglass (G)

Interim Choices, by Izhilzha (PG)

All but 17 stories on the rec archive are gen :) but specific previous gen months can be found here, here, here, here, and here.

If you want to join the reccing fun, it's easy - just four recs a month! Browse through the categories and sign up for your favorite.

hi there, post-Serpent's Venom ficlet that was supposed to be done in time for Abyssis' birthday!)

*perks ears*
*pretends patience*

(oh, man, April! April! *runs in circles*)

Sam, Daniel, and zero. A match made in heaven, yes? (Or possibly in space?)

April! Pesach! Eeeeeeee!

Definitely match made in space! I mean, CANON GOT THINGS RIGHT!

April! Pesach! Eeeeeeee!

Ack! I have to survive the workload through Monday first. *does not panic* *well, maybe a little*
Though I should probably get to the store soon in case we repeat last year's great US Matza Shortage.

...I've written about two sentences.

Well, at least I'm a little farther along than you. Though even the revised deadline is looking iffy to me right now. (The sad thing is, I really like my story idea. It's just not coming together as easily as I'd like or hoped.)

Same here - I like the idea, but I'm unsure of the execution. Sigh.

You don't know me, but I just friended you. I found your site to be informative regarding SG-1 team recs, and I love Daniel and classic SG-1. I'm trying to write, but have only managed one story so far, mainly because the gaps in the episodes it's a tag for bugged me. I discovered SG-1 in April 2006, but I've loved the team ever since. I am an avid reader though. :)

Welcome! I'm only a year ahead of you, and am still thoroughly obsessed. :) Hope you enjoy what you see, and you're always welcome to add to discussions!
