Redial's recap for Zero Hour goes up later today. I have abused my modly powers to enjoy [personal profile] nandamai's upcoming post and spent most of the time giggling. Make sure you all drop by [info]redial_the_gate later to enjoy it!

In the meantime, though, here is a bit of Jack meta. It's only a few lines that wouldn't fit into my recent Jack fic, but it certainly fits this particular episode:

It's one of the reasons he mocks the Goa'uld so much. He's glad for their incompetence, of course; Earth wouldn't stand a chance against their superior technology without it. But it's so stupid.

Ba'al isn't stupid, though, and Jack mocks him for different reasons entirely that he very carefully refuses to consider on any conscious level.

S9-10 Ba'al was incredibly incompetent (to me, anyway), and even Continuum-era Ba'al made some astonishingly stupid mistakes. But the Ba'al of S6-8 was scarily intelligent.

So. Jack and Ba'al and what it meant for Jack to face him again with the assumption that the three people he probably loves most are in Ba'al's hands. Discuss. :)
