On my profile page, I say, "Not such a fan of the newer face of SG-1, but willing to keep an open mind." With canon closing and my dislike for S9-10 pretty much unchanged, it's a little harder to keep the mind open. :) Still, here we have five Cameron Mitchell fics that I've read and enjoyed, despite my lack of enthusiasm for the past two seasons... Which, come to think of it, is a rather strong endorsement for these stories.
How Being On SG-1 Isn't All Space Babes And High Adventure, by Kellifer (PG)
Five Things Cameron Would Change About SG-1, by Teand (PG-13)
Campfirelight, Campfire Stories, by Minxy (PG)
Things Not Understood, by Emily (PG)
Least Resistance, by Martha Wilson (PG-13)
I've recced very little S9-10 fic before this, but here are three stories that I've previously recced that feature Mitchell:
Netscapade, by Aurora Novarum (G) SG-1 meets Return of the Jedi, and Mitchell puts his mouth in it. Funny and light.
They Won’t Fade Away, by Svendra (PG) - to quote the rec: "S9 Team plus Jack. Outrageous theft, humor, teamy goodness, and the promise that the adventure will always continue. (And leather.)"
Yet Another SG-1 Adventure, by Minnow (PG) - a real favorite of mine. S9 Team plus Jack. And don't forget the zombies!

Jack and Daniel friendship, on the other hand, was revisiting an old and beloved friend. It was Daniel who first got me interested in SG-1, but it was Jack and Daniel's friendship that made me fall in love with the show. So thanks, you two. :) And here are the recs from this month that celebrate that wonderful friendship:
Not With a Bang, by Synecdochic (PG-13)
Friendly Fire, by Redbyrd (PG)
Time in the Superman Booth, by Traveling One (PG)
Smooth Operator, by Scribe (PG)
Trust, by Random (PG-13)
Give and Take, by Jane Davitt (PG-13)
Island Life, by Tallulah Rasa (PG)
Storms, by Merry (PG)
The last time I did Jack and Daniel friendship recs, I hadn't yet started doing these monthly round-ups. So here's the list from exactly a year ago, in June 2006, when I last did this category:
Lost and Found, by Karen Greim Mullian (R) - How badly does Daniel need Jack's friendship in his life? This intense, teamy story answers that question, with some peripheral Sam/Pete that even this gen girl can like!
Stay in Touch, by Tefnut (PG-13) - A fantastic story that strips Daniel and Jack (literally) down to the essentials. Trapped off-world and desperate to communicate with their protectors/jailers, the price of escape might be a little too high. Fantastic Sam and Teal'c on the SGCside, too.
Free Fall, by Eos (PG-13) - Teamy goodness, and Daniel doesn't die on Thursdays. It's apparently in his contract, together with Jack's ability to cheat at hangman.
Vindication, by Brenda Anders (PG) - Classic and delightfully funny: Daniel faces his peers, and Jack is along to provide his unique brand of back-up.
A Rock and a Hard Place, by Sam Walker (PG-13) - One of my absolute favorites. The team works to rescue Daniel, with Jack as an auditory lifeline.
Siege, by Seanchaidh (PG) - Two very familiar brothers struggle with their identity. Great Jack voice and world building, and an interesting look at the background of an ally.
Leap of Faith, by Sunrise (PG-13) - A touch of the supernatural as Daniel and Jack struggle for survival right here on Earth.
There are lots and lots more, of course. You can check out the Jack and Daniel friendship memories for additional fics.
