March was a pretty quiet fandom month in my gennish corner, although I will say YAY that
redial_the_gate has started S9 (the comm has been running for how long now?!) and point out that there are still two episodes available to recap. I also want to encourage participation in
gate_women's 11 in 11 challenge. It's basically a commitment to post 11 entries to the comm over the course of 2011, at any rate or pace that you wish. And the women of the Gates can always use more love!
rachel500 is keeping a running index of the posts so far; it's right here.
I wrote two fics this month:
Seeking Definition. Sam speculates on her friendship with Teal'c, with some extra Sam and Daniel friendship thrown in for good measure. 819 words. Rated G.
Speaking of Jack. Twelve prompted drabbles, twelve glimpses of Jack. PG. I am very happy with how this one turned out, not to mention how quickly! :) Look for more of these soon, I hope.
Over at
figs_sg1_rec, I've archived my usual two rec categories for
stargateficrec. This month, it's crossovers and Cassie.
Cassie recs
Five Movies Janet and Cassie Watch Together, by Thothmes (PG)
Apogee, by Julie (G)
Mothers of Teenagers Know Why Animals Eat Their Young, by Gillian (G)
Future Tense, by Eponymous Rose (PG-13)
I last recced Cassie fics back in 2009, but there are plenty more recs at the link!
Crossover recs
When I recced crossovers last month, I'd planned to highlight some of the Alphabet Soup fics but didn't get the chance. So I recced the category twice in a row. :)
Non-Encounters of the Deeply Weird Kind, by Aces (PG)
Z is for Zombies, by Penknife (G)
Physicist, Soldier, Queen, by Sentientcitizen (PG)
X Marks the Spot, by Beth (PG)
::insert regular encouragement to sign up to rec here::
In other gen rec news,
sg1genrecs will be running the kidfic theme until the end of the week. We've had some great recs there, but if you have a favorite gen kidfic, now's the time to rec it!
And finally, in the milestone department...
It's April 2011. FIVE YEARS since I started reccing gen SG-1 fics.
And my last rec in March was number 675.
::throws squeeful confetti::
Keep writing, folks. :)

(And I just finished reading X Marks the Spot this morning. You definitely bring the good stuff!)

I was saving X Marks the Spot until Beth finished it - she only did part 1 for the Soup. It was a very happy accident that it became #675, because it was lots of fun! Glad you enjoyed it, too.
