Found a reference to this and spent a few minutes trying to find a completely non-partisan link, as this journal is strictly a no-politics zone. The official PDF file from denvergov.org makes a pretty good source, I think... :)

This link will take you to a PDF booklet that is mailed to registered voters in Denver, Colorado, and includes a Notice of Election and sample ballot. The pertinent paragraph is on page 8 of the file, the last section of the ballot for November 2. I have excerpted it below:

City and County of Denver Ballot Question
Initiated Ordinance 300

Shall the voters for the City and County of Denver adopt an Initiated Ordinance to require the creation of an extraterrestrial affairs commission to help ensure the health, safety, and cultural awareness of Denver residents and visitors in relation to potential encounters or interactions with extraterrestrial intelligent beings or their vehicles, and fund such commission from grants, gifts and donations?

Please note that reference to extraterrestrial intelligent beings or their vehicles. As my subject line suggests, this may not be the first step to revealing the SGC; it might just be the result of Teal'c's adventures behind the wheel!

Registered voters will have to check either "yes" or "no" for Ordinance 300. I wonder what the ballot looks like in Colorado Springs...? ;)
