I knew I'd never manage NaNo, but I thought that I could at least write two (or more) sections of On the Outside, Looking In during this month. But nooooo, I managed only Season Five and a few drabbles of S6. So much for finishing the series before the end of the calendar year, sigh.

I didn't even manage to rec as many fics as I usually do each month. Only six this time: four Jack and Daniel friendship, and two Doctor Who crossovers. (What is it about Doctor Who that makes for such gleeful crossovers? I've never watched a single ep on any incarnation of the show and I inevariably fall in love with ever DW/SG-1 crossover I ever read. I've recced an insane amount of them over the years.)

You all know the drill by now: All the fics were recced at [info]stargateficrec and archived at figs_sg1_rec. The SG-1 Rec Master List does not yet include the recs linked below.

This Year, Next Year, Sometime, Never, by JDJunkie (PG-13)

Planet of the Penguins, by Greensilver (G)

Ye who Enter Here, by Magistrate (PG)

The Whole Rhubarb, by Tallulah Rasa (PG-13)

A Jaffa, an archaeologist, and two Air Force officers walk into a library…, by Aces (G)

Close Encounters, by Stringertheory (PG)

In other reccing news, the the edges of canon theme over at [community profile] sg1genrecs isn't getting quite the attention I'd hoped to see. I've made two recs myself; I hope to see more of them soon.

And in other, slighting daunting reccing news... yes, I have taken over ownership of [info]stargateficrec. [personal profile] angelsgracie and [personal profile] medie are retiring and Angelsgracie offered the comm to me to keep it going. I was insane enough to say yes :) although I will still be continuing to operate as Reccer of Random. Honestly, it does seem to run pretty smoothly on its own. I don't expect to have to do much more than put up sign-up posts for volunteers and announce the monthly reccers, although I do think a little tidying up of accumulated clutter would probably be a good idea. Here's hoping I won't find it too overwhelming! There's already a nice crop of volunteers for next month (all pairings, natch -- we gen fans must take what crumbs we can get), but if you're interested in reccing yourself, you can claim a category here.
