Did anyone else catch that casual aside of Sam's in the final scene? Langara is one of the five recent planets that fell to the Ori. Not one word of concern about Jonas, Quinn; only an observation that there's no word from their "allies." I'm firmly in the Season-Six-had-only-three-episodes camp, but even I find that a little harsh. :)

So if you haven't yet watched the ep, why click on a LJ cut clearly marked "spoiler"? :)

I don't think the producers know how to be quite that subtle; it was such a little, casual thing that I find it difficult to believe that it's a setup for future episodes. No ominous music in the background, no looks of anguish, and so forth.

OTOH, if it inspires Redbyrd fic, how bad can it be? ;)

Ah, I clicked on it because I was thinking that it was about the episode I just saw (I hardly ever catch the titles when I see it on TV..I only figure them out later from the transcript/critique/net flames/etc.) Only realized it wasn't after. I generally don't seek spoilers out, though I'm not as sensitive as some people. Actually, I saw the start of the episode last Friday, but couldn't stay to watch because I had to help pack stuff. I can't even pout about it- I was being a grownup. *sigh* I've got the tape of '200' already, and Friday's is waiting for me to pick it up later in the week. Maybe next weekend I'll have time to watch them.

But I have to say, I have caught them foreshadowing once or twice. For example, I think it's two episodes before Scorched Earth that they're going on a mission to look for a new planet for the Enkarans, and they have a couple sentences of dialogue about it, before the Enkarans have ever been seen. It's just a throwaway bit before they get derailed by the crisis of the episode, but neat that they made the effort to introduce the race and their problem in advance.

Huh. You give 'em a lot more credit than I do! I always assumed they simply grabbed the "Enkaran" name from the previous ep, not that it was deliberately inserted as foreshadowing - chicken before the egg kinda thing, don't y'see.

I have nothing against Jonas, per se, so I wouldn't mind too much if he shows up. I would, however, greatly dislike having to revisit Langara. I despise Kelowna et al big time and wouldn't want to waste five seconds on them, much less an episode.

And yes, I know how hard it can be to be "grown-up." Had the last four episodes sitting on CD for a week before I could sit down to watch them.

Hey, just randomly surfing 'net here, but this discussion intrigued me. I agree that if we never see Kelowna again it will be too soon, but I do like the character of Jonas, even though I'm also a rabid Daniel fan. I cringed, too, when I heard that bit. So casual! Sam, at least, seemed to care about Jonas.

It would be cool to have him come back in some later Season 10 ep, maybe having fled to a different planet and trying to lead a rebellion or something. That would be AWESOME.

But I also love everything redbyrd does to fix the series, so that would be cool, too. :)

Eh, it just seems be yet another example of how little TPTB care about secondary characters, even the likable ones. Nyan, anyone? I was so hoping to see him back, and never did.

But his actor got to die in SGA. That's something.

Yeah. Jonas at least grew up a bit. The Kelownans, if anything, regressed.

And yep yep! Any Redbyrd fix-it story is well worth reading. :)

Wouldn't it have been nice if Nyan had been the alien addition to SG-1 in S6? Or even a rotating fourth - Nyan, Reynolds, Balinsky, anyone who they needed for a particular mission?

But his actor got to die in SGA. That's something.

Erm. Will take your word for it that that's a consolation. Never bothered with SGA - why should I, when there's no Daniel? ;)

Love your icon. Keep 'em away from our Daniel! Gen teamy goodness, all the way!

Oh, that would have been excellent in so many ways. I like Jonas, truly, but he did come in with a lot of baggage, and a lot of fans hated him for not trying to save Daniel. Nyan did the opposite--he gave up his WORLD to help SG-1. And I would have loved to see him again.

TPTB are dumb.

It's not. :D It's actually quite depressing. Plus the SGA character was . . . um . . . not skinny. So every time I saw his face I thought "Pudgy Nyan."

I kinda wish they wouldn't reuse actors so much, but then this IS Canada. Apparently they only have, like, thirty people in Vancouver. ;) (No offense meant if you happen to be Canadian.)

I really wasn't interested in it either until I started watching it with an obsessed friend, who loves Rodney snark and Sheppard's hair. Have to admit I slowly fell under the charm. But I still love SG-1 the most, definitely, and Daniel will always be my only love, besides Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi, of course.

Thanks for the icon love! :D I'm quite pleased with it myself, considering that it's my first attempt at a Daniel avvie and I only have MSPaint.
