I have an obsession a liking for organization, even if I'm not necessarily very good at it. :) So I wanted to have a central place for all my recs. The master list is useful, but not as handy as I would have liked.
I am therefore very pleased to announce that
figs_sg1_rec is finally up and running! Essentially, the LJ has copies of all the recs I've ever made at
stargateficrec. I had a lot of fun making a list of very comprehensive tags - character, friendship, genre, season... even pairings! I was highly amused to be able to actually count those. Out of what is currently 256 recs, exactly ten of them are not gen.
I've subtitled it "for the SG-1 fan with gen-colored glasses" for a reason. :)
I owe a great deal of thanks to
nomadicwriter's marvelous
nomads_gen_recs, which I shamelessly used as a template for setting things up. Her community is multi-fandom and beautifully organized. It's well worth a look!
Not quite sure where to go from here with the master list and my monthly lists of rec links. It would be neater, I suppose, to link to
figs_sg1_rec instead of
stargateficrec. Converting the master list to link to the journal, though, would be a massive undertaking. I'm going to have to think about that one for a while.
If you're already watching
stargateficrec (and if not, why not?!), there's nothing new for you at
figs_sg1_rec; watching it would only give you double posts on your flist, since I make entries to both at once. But if you want to browse through past recs, or you're looking for a certain type of fic, then I hope you'll find the archive LJ to be useful.

At which point I have to shuffle feet apologetically, explain that I'm a slow writer and say, 'Quick, look! There's lots of shiny gen fic, right over there!', and then slink out while they're distracted...
