We're waiting for only a few more stories. I am harbouring fantasies of actually having Off-World Alphabet Soup up by the end of today. We'll see. :)
In the meantime, I must confess to being just a tad disappointed that no one took the opportunity to link to a favorite story, whether their own or another author's. With this hopefully short wait to complete the Soup, I'm extending Gen Fic Day for a little longer. How about it, people? Drop me a comment, either here or at the original Gen Fic Day entry, with a link to an old story of yours and/or a rec for a favorite fic, vid, meta, whatever. Or both!

My favorites are the long action/adventure, hurt/comfort style stories, and many of the ones I have enjoyed are older ones from way back, which were on archive sites that are now offline (and unfortunately I'm not capable of searching for them right now - sorry).
I wonder if, for people like myself, the loss of those sites might contribute to a dearth of referrals?
Here are two readily available ones I heartily recommend, though ...
Mistaken identity by Scribe - great world-building and OCs, Daniel in peril, lots of teamy goodness

To the Victor, the Spoils by Lex
Takes place both on and offworld, but the focus of the story is offworld discovery. Teamwork, peril, exploration

I'd love to rec more, but the timing just isn't working well for me, this Gen Fic Day ;-)
Thanks for all your hard work
