Update on the Soup

Two weeks to go, people, and HALF the letters are still unclaimed.

...I think this is going to be our last SG-1 Alphabet Soup. The interest isn't there anymore. There are the wonderful people like Wonderland who have been writing in every single Soup since it began, and relative newcomers who have been enthusiastically writing one (or more) stories in the last few years, and there's almost always a new cook or two. But we can't seem to find enough authors for a full Soup, and it's getting a little too discouraging.

Still! I have hopes that this will be a good finale. So if you want to join this last Soup, please sign up here. And if your story is finished, then post the details here.

I'll be AFK until the 1st, so if you're signing up, please double-check to see if any comments posted since today, the 24th, have already claimed the episode you want. Letter assignments will be distributed when I get back, but you can start writing your fic; I'll be happy to help you find ways to make your letter fit. (Half the time, I write a fic and then figure out which letter needs claiming...)

Signal boost, people! The more the merrier, or at least the more the more complete. :)

I have always adored these and also found that the prompts inspire some of my very best work.

Still, I know how draining it is to try to drum up interest when it just isn't there.

I hate this decision too, and I have always enjoyed your contributions to the Soups. Especially your multiple ones this past year or so, when it's been so hard to fill all the entries!

...There's always the SG-1 Friendathon.

I'm still pretty dedicated to this fandom. I know lots of folks have gone off with new sparkles but Stargate seems to be the one I just can't quit. It's one of my go-to binges.

I hate to see the soup go but the memories and the friends I made are tucked snugly into my heart.

Well, I didn't go back and check, but "...and Wonderland" is a pretty automatic addition to the list of Soup cooks. :) (Hey, it's alphabetical)

I don't see myself drifting off, either, but you were an established name already back when I first was intrigued enough by an OT thread in another fandom to see what this Daniel Jackson guy was all about. So I'm definitely glad you're here for the long haul!

I just kind of looked back at the saved stuff on my thumb drive (believe me, if the house catches on fire, I'm grabbing that!) and I posted my first fic in 2007....

Seriously? That's about the time I joined the fandom actively and I've always felt you were long-established before I came along. Just goes to show, eh?

I'm sure I was putting my two cents in for awhile before I posted my first fic. I had a hard drive crash years ago and lost some earlier stories. But I think 2007 or 2008 is really when I started fangirling Stargate!
