This month in [livejournal.com profile] stargateficrec, I had the privilege of reccing an old friend - Teamy goodness - as well as starting a brand new category, Sam and Teal'c friendship. I got a little carried away with the second category. :) Admittedly, I was hoping to rec lots of the new teamy goodness fics from the [livejournal.com profile] sg1teamficathon, but it hasn't gone live yet. Still, it's never that hard to find great team fic!

The links below actually lead to the recommendations at the rec archive at [livejournal.com profile] figs_sg1_rec, but they were all posted first at [livejournal.com profile] stargateficrec, which is a marvelous resource and deserves everyone's participation and support. :)

The master list of fic recs has now been split in two because of LJ posting constraints: fics titled A-M here and fics titled N-Z here. If you're looking for the most recent recs, or want to search by character or genre, try the rec archive.

Teamy goodness recs:

The Metamorphosis, by Fyere (G)

The Art of the Deal, by Littera Abactor (PG-13)

Untitled Whumping Humor, by Emily (PG)

Downtime, by Kellifer (PG)

Tin Pot, by Aelfgyfu (PG)

In Dulci Jubilo, by Salieri (PG)

All of these are light and fun and fluffy, except for the last one, which is beautifully, hauntingly intense.

Previous teamy goodness recs can be found  here, here, here, and here. You may note that it's a rather popular category for me! :) You can also try the team tag at [livejournal.com profile] figs_sg1_rec.

Sam and Teal'c friendship recs:

Trading Blows, by ALC Punk

Much Abides, by Debby (PG-13)

Little Minds, by Denise (PG)

Pizza and Fairy Tales, by Ari (G)

Bad Dreams, by ELG (PG)

In the Neighborhood, by Geonn (G)

To Thine Own Self Be True, by Katie M. (G)

Da Capo, by Julie (G)

Feeling Blue, by Abyssis (PG)

Previous Sam and Teal'c friendship recs:

Teamwork, by Courser (PG-13). A fun story where Sam and Teal'c need to rescue Jack and Daniel. Chocolate bars are involved.

How Teal'c Discovered Make-up, by Psychofilly (PG). Early S1 Sam and Teal'c, bonding over Mary Kay.

Salt of the Earth, by ELG (R). A fantastic team fic that's also a marvelous character study for Sam, who is grappling with the death of Narim, and Joe Faxon, and the entire Tollan race. She and Teal'c work side-by-side through much of the story, and it's all wonderful.

C'est la Vie, by Sam Walker (PG). A favorite humorous team fic of mine, with Teal'c calmly helping Sam in her efforts to... oh, go and read it yourself. :)

In addition, I recommended the lovely fic that [livejournal.com profile] seldear (aka [livejournal.com profile] tielan) wrote for me for the [livejournal.com profile] sg_ep_ficathon: No Second Guesses. The only character is the fic is actually Sam, but she's accompanied by a most excellent Teal'c voice in her head.

And while we're at it, it seems only apropos to add a link to Sibling Rivalry by Brihana, which I've recced before. It's unquestionably one of the most hilarious humor vids you will ever see, and who cares if Sam and Teal'c are utterly OOC? The text at the very end has me giggling every time, without fail.

It's the right time of month to wander over to [livejournal.com profile] stargateficrec and sign up to rec. Four recs a month, people - that's what, forty minutes of your time over the course of four weeks? You can go here to sign up, and check out the FAQ if you have any questions. The comm is always looking for new reccers, and the mods will be happy to help. But an empty slot in the Daniel category? Really, that's nothing short of scandalous! :) I signed up for it myself, but I'm pretty sure that I've accidently committed myself to three categories instead of my regular two, so I'm going to have to ask the mods to push it off for a month. So - go! Snag the Daniel category! Or Jack, or Sam, or Teal'c. Or Mitchell. Or Vala. Or Jonas, even. :). Choose a genre - humor or gen or angst or AU, or suggest a category of your own under "other." Sign up for friendship. There are the shipping categories, too - even if I don't pay any attention to those, it doesn't mean that you wouldn't enjoy reccing them!

Go and spread the squee!

I so love Sibling Rivalry. It's very much not canon for the relationship or the context, but it's so damn funny!

Yay [livejournal.com profile] sg1teamficathon. In impatiently waiting for it to go live, I've been rereading the 2005 version fics. I alternate between being reminded how cool these stories were, and freaking out as to whether my 2007 contribution will meet expectations. I've vowed on pain of beta smiting to stop futzing with it. LOL

I don't think Sibling Rivalry would be half as funny if it had any context. :)

Very very impatient in waiting for the ficathon to go live! But I got to beta not one but TWO marvelous fics, so I'm smugly confident that the 2007 version is going to be every bit as good. Yay for team goodness!

I've betaed one, and despite the author's misgivings, I think it totally rocks as is. :-)

I think [livejournal.com profile] beanpot is the beta queen however, she's done three that I know of. Heh.

**we can use him as a footstool or a table to play scrabble on...**

The only thing I'd change was that last scene of Sam aiming at Daniel in Foothold - and replacing it with Replicarter stabbing Daniel in Reckoning.

I mean, Teal'c got to shoot him. It would only be fair! :)

(Brihana might have done the vid before S8, though.)

I wouldn't change that...mainly because I love that scene in Foothold, and that wasn't one of Daniel's best deaths, but, you have a point...er, no pun intended.

This was post-S8. She has Moebius Teal'c backhanding dork-Daniel.

That's how I got Daniel in November - I wandered over, saw NOBODY had claimed him, and couldn't leave him unloved.

Speaking of...I have at least one more set of recs to do this month...

Can't have Daniel neglected, can we? Who would get his coffee? :)
