Whew! Back after a week offline and you people have been busy! :) [livejournal.com profile] sg1debrief will surely have lots of goodies for me, but in the meantime, if you've posted something Stargate related since the 15th, please drop me a link and let me know.

(Because no, I am NOT going to try and trawl through skip=200 flist.)

Whew! A scarily huge undertaking, the SFA. It's going to take weeks to go through all the categories and vote!

Out of curiosity, exactly how many noms did a fanwork require in order to get onto the ballot? Was a single nomination (sometimes self-nommed) enough, or was there a minimum?

There was debate on that, but the final decision was to require a minimum of 5. There are pros and cons on both sides, but most things will fit into more than one category and sometimes like categories can be logically combined. It's a moving target, no matter what you do. :-)

That makes a lot of sense, actually. Thanks for the clarification.

Anytime!

Oh, it took five people nominating you to get on the ballot? Wow, that is impressive.

I knew it was five noms to create a category, but I thought it was still one nom to be one of the nominees.

Good luck with the awards.

Oh, no! No, only one person nominating to get you on the ballot.

It took five *different* items nominated for a category to 'make'.

I hope I didn't misunderstand the original question.

I did actually ask about individual fanworks, not how to form a category.

So a person could get a fanwork onto the ballot via self-nomination, without any other nominations from other people? Interesting.

Yeah. Surprisingly, few people self-nominate.
