So, I'm ending the calendar year with 139 recs in stargateficrec over a period of nine months. Well, seven, really, since I was AFK for two months of that time. That's… hm. Pretty impressive, actually. And unexpected!

I have to say it's been a lot of fun. It's fascinating to watch the almost organic process of word of mouth on LJ: I might browse over to another person's journal and find the same recs that I've made only a day or two before, which are then picked up by someone else and passed along. Admittedly, I'm childish enough to wish that I'd be acknowledged for that. :) But the important thing is that more and more fans get to discover some truly wonderful stories, and the author will hopefully get more feedback for those fics. And that's what reccing is all about, isn't it?

This month's recs were Daniel Jackson and Teamy Goodness – my favorite categories, if you haven't quite noticed yet! They're all gen, which shouldn't be all that surprising, either. Since I've had the opportunity to rec both categories before, I've included links to those. I've also added some previous recs in other categories that highly deserve inclusion in the Teamy Goodness category. I didn't do the same for the Daniel Jackson category, but that's because well over 90% of the fics I recommend would qualify. :)

Please note that the links lead to the full recommendation in stargateficrec and not to the fics themselves.

The master list of fic recs can be found here.

Teamy Goodness recs:

·  Courage and Commitment, by Debs (PG)

·  Footprints, by Raven (G)

·  Frolicking, by Jonah in the Whale (G)

·  Jell-O Shots, by Jennghis Kahn (PG-13)

·  Meeting of Minds, by SEF (PG-13)

·  Passing Thus Along, by Meg (PG)

·  The Undefended Territory, by Julie Fortune (PG-13)

·  Training Day, by Random (PG-13)

Previous Teamy Goodness recs can be found here.

Fics I would have recced in Teamy Goodness, if I hadn't already recced them in a different category:

A Rock and a Hard Place, by Sam Walker (PG-13)One of my top five favorite fics. Superb Jack POV as SG-1 and the SGC try to rescue Daniel from a ledge halfway down a cliff. Sam does science, Teal'c does strength, Jack does friendship. Wonderful teamy goodness!

Free Fall, by Eos (PG-13) Jack and Daniel are missing, presumed possibly dead, in an off-world crisis. Sam and Teal'c rally the forces and won't take pessimism for an answer. Jack cheats at hangman, Daniel refuses to die on Thursdays, and teamy goodness saves the day.

Lost in Translation, by Vathara (PG) – One of my favorites – top five, or maybe even top three. Great characterization and plotting; humor, action/adventure, and even a bit of hurt/comfort, but no angst. Mythology, Asgard secrets, and handcuffs. And cookies!

Rock, Toilet Paper, Scissors, by Tallulah Rasa (PG) – One of my top three fics. SG-1, trapped in a cave off-world during a downpour, and discussing the mysteries of the universe… and toilets. Wonderful insight as only Tallulah Rasa can give.

Roses in December, by Rheanna (PG)  - Another one of my top three fics (anyone sensing a trend?). Haunting, beautiful, powerful. Jack is losing his memories – the very core of everything he is – and his teammates will do anything to stop it and bring back the man they know.

The Weakest Link, by OughtaKnowBetter (PG-13) – Yet another favorite of mine. When half of SG-1 is kidnapped in order to get to Jack O'Neill, we're treated to pure teamy goodness as all four of them work seamlessly together to defeat the bad guys – even when they're separated and under harsh pressure.

Yet Another SG-1 Adventure, by Minnow (PG) – My only S9 fic rec to date, and well worth it! It's got Jack. And perfect characterization for the whole team. And great humor. And zombies!
