::collapses::
Okay, kinda sorta back to normal now... :)
So, I haven't been around much in the last few weeks. Even tagging for Debrief was a fly-by thing - I couldn't stop to read anything! If you've posted anything SG-1 related that you think I'd enjoy, drop a link here in the comments. Don't worry about spamming me; I'm asking for it.
A fun discussion that I saw posted on several LJs, but regretfully had to pass by: why are you reading my LJ?
There are a lot of you out there who have friended me without commenting why. This is fine, as I specifically say on my profile page. Anyone is welcome, as long as they're civil in discussion. But I do get curious, sometimes, so...
Here, have a poll. Open to everyone who might stumble across it. And hey, here's the perfect time to comment and say hi!

I very much have OTPs and I know our favorite characters are completely different, but that's what I love about this little corner of fandom - civil, thinky discussions on all things Stargate!

Glad you're here!

As for the poll. I'm not so much a loyal subject of the Ship-free realm, as much as I have dual citizenship: The Kingdom of Slash as well as the Realm of Ship-Free. :-):-);-):-)
More seriously, intelligent discussion is always worth the effort, if I agree with the people involved or not.

I definitely read this journal for all the Jack/Daniel goodness. Um. *shifts eyes*
I mean I read for the...
Aw, heck, I read because your recs are what got me into this fandom when I started watching the show and had no clue where to start looking for fic that had been being written for over 10 years. And because of the meta and squee and everything else.
(I'm pretty sure I didn't post anything interesting. But I did protect Bean from a 4 foot black snake. Oh, and at Sedar I discovered my 12 year-old cousin is well on her way to becoming a fangirl.)

And while I tend to be ship free on the show, I multi ship like mad in fandom.

I friended you because I didn't really want to miss any of the neat meta/recs/all the other stuff. Yeah, I know. Completely unhelpful. :)

I'm glad you wandered in, and I'm glad you've stayed!

Whatever brought you here, thanks for your contributions!

Your posts are great (recs, your own fic, and of course canon vs. fanon); you're also just great at getting and keeping discussions going! You've got your very own Stargate SG-1 salon, in the Enlightenment sense of the word! (If the Enlightenment had been into tv and sf.)
When I get busy, I tend to skip episode discussions, so I haven't been involved in those so much lately--but I always make sure to keep an eye on your journal!

I do love the ebb and flow of discussions. Sometimes I want to comment on everything everyone says; sometimes it's just fun to sit back and watch, just like everyone else. :)
Keep writing your great fics, and keep commenting here, too!

Um...I have no idea how we met up with each other. I think you joined lj after me....I know I spam you all the time and you put up with it, so hah! I almost think I visited before canon v. fanon was created...I remember
poking and naggingencouraging you about them.As for ship-free. Heh, aren't we like the Gen twins? We definitely share similar taste on fic categories. Heh. Teamy Goodness forevah!
Oh speaking of, I wrote a Jack and Teal'c friendship fic (http://aurora-novarum.livejournal.com/54374.html) for
ETA: Oh and I forgot to add! Welcome back!!!! Missed you and hope you had a wonderful holiday! :-D

I've collected enough for a month's worth of reccing, y'know... :)
I salute our gen twinniness and teamy goodness enthusiasm. Long may it reign, and much may be written!

Um, Stargate-related posts...not much, I've been in obsession mode over Supernatural, lately.
Oh! But I did post a brief, cracky Jack & Daniel ficlet (http://kalquessa.livejournal.com/540211.html) for Izh's birthday. You may find it amusing.

Jack and Daniel friendship will always and forever by my favorite. Whee!

i love all your meta and recs, and your careful attention to canon. I just basically enjoy your fannishness where our tastes overlap.
and i also appreciate how you are careful not to judge or lecture people even when their tastes interfere with yours or even go into areas that are a big Do Not Want for you.
thank you for being here! I lurk more than I comment, but I really appreciate you.

I love your thinky meta posts, and I'm glad you're here, whether or not you lurk!

Alphabet Soup is one of those surprisingly good ideas where you look back and say, "Hey, did I come up with that? Neat!" We'll get to Teal'c and Jack, too. Eventually. ;)
I love your friendship fics, and I'm pleased to have you here!

As a multi-shipper (and crossover junkie and Heroine addict) I really like the Gen fic offerings and the wankless discussions. On top of that I've really enjoyed doing the alphabet soups and the friendship ficathon.
Did I comment before friending? I can't remember?

I'm pretty sure you started commenting before you friended, but either way, I'm glad you're with us!

And no, we have no ramble quota here. Always welcome!

Well I friended you at first because of the recs and meta, but now I know you're a member of the Gen fic brigade I'm not likely to let you go for a loooong time.
Plus, I think you're pretty awesome!

The trend in recs didn't give the gen thing away? ;)

I only wandered into LJ because I wanted to comment on some other folks' fics so I signed up, not thinking I would friend very many folks. I did Magnavox immediately, but she and I have been pals since we met on the Sg-1 archives and she pulled my up by my bootstraps
...waves to all my new friends.....

You keep writing, I'll keep reccing!
Deal? :)
