sg1friendathon fics are due in two more weeks, on June 2. That gives me feelings of both wheeee! and eeeeeee!, because at 4,000 words, I'm still not quite halfway there, and hoo boy is Random going to have a lot to do on this one!
Betas are the queens of fandom. I just think that needs to be said more often.

ETA: Whoops, forgot to ask: is there a Goa'uld term for the DHD, or should I just shamelessly steal Redbyrd's Skaara's term, which, IIRC, means something like "thing that goes with the chappa'ai"?
ETA2: Nope, not Redbyrd's, but Seanchaidh's, from part 3 of her Getting to Know You series:
"Well, Skaara did nickname it a raatan'ai," I admitted, "but I have no clue what the real name is..."
"Raw-what?" Jack frowned.
"What does that mean?" asked Sam, ever the curious.
"Um, 'little thing that goes with the Chaapa'ai,' actually."
Bad Fig Newton! No biscuit! I confused the two marvelous fill-in-the-blank episode rewrites that I've recced in the past: Redbyrd's Setting Up House was recced here, and Seanchaidh's Getting to Know You was recced here.
