I resumed my tagging duties for [livejournal.com profile] sg1_debrief today, after four weeks of being mostly offline. The marvelous [livejournal.com profile] splash_the_cat was tagging gen fic for me in my absence (on top of everything else she does for Debrief!), and when she gave me the links so I could take up where she left off, I discovered that she'd gone six days without a single gen fic to tag!

So, obviously, this Gen Fic Day was right on time. :) And wildly sucessful, too! Here's the round-up of all the marvelous fic and recs and graphics that got linked:

Jack Alpha-Bits

We ended up with 27 fics, written by 26 authors, with word counts ranging from the perfect drabble at 100 words to about 6,500 words. Jack backstory, Jack pre-series, Jack in Washington. Episode related. Drama, angst, humor, fluff. Jack and Daniel friendship, Jack and Janet friendship, Jack and Teal'c friendship. All so gooooood! You can read them all at Jack Alpha-Bits.

New fic

A desolate wasteland..., by [livejournal.com profile] uniquinum. Four times a member of SG1 survived the end of the world and one time they didn't.

Untitled commentfic from [livejournal.com profile] lilyleia78. A thoughtful look at Jack's choices at the end of S8.

W is for Wobegon, by [livejournal.com profile] acarlgeek. Jack silliness and puns, plus team.

A Truly Modern Major-General, by [livejournal.com profile] ziparumpazoo. Hilarious crackfic, in which Hammond and Teal'c take on Gilbert and Sullivan to immortalize the first season of SG-1.

WIPs

Diplomacy, by [livejournal.com profile] nightspear_1287. A continuation of her fantastic Abydon!Daniel AU, Translations. Keep in mind that this WIP is over 120,000 words and counting... :)

[livejournal.com profile] annerbhp gives us Escape Velocity - Evan Lorne on Earth, all too aware of the huge gulf between himself and the innocent child he used to be.

A very tempting snippet from [livejournal.com profile] redbyrd_sgfic: Clone!Jack going after Ba'al on Earth.

Older fic

Team's Night Out, by [livejournal.com profile] suzannemarie. The team goes bowling, and ringers abound. Fun and fluffy.

Words of Beauty/Love/Life and Battle Cry by [livejournal.com profile] tejas. The first is a stunning character study for Daniel, with Jack friendship for good measure; the second is a longer fic, with Daniel coping on the battlefield.

The Incident of the Cheese Toasties in the Nighttime, by [livejournal.com profile] cnidarian. Jack risks Janet's wrath for a snack, with a little inadvertent help from his team.

Recs

[livejournal.com profile] tejas recced Stargate: Explorer by [livejournal.com profile] starg8_explorer, a long AU apocafic with Daniel right, front, and center.

[livejournal.com profile] acarlgeek recced the hilarious Actualize This! by Helena Handbasket. Jack and Daniel in full snark mode in a crossover with The Sentinel and The Invisible Man. Classic fic, and speaking as someone with no knowledge of the other fandoms, rest assured that no such knowledge is needed to thoroughly enjoy this.

Vids

Fear: Absolute Power, by [livejournal.com profile] sg_betty. An Absolute Power vid.

SG-1: Scientists (revised), by [livejournal.com profile] sg_betty. Sam and Daniel, blowing things up!

It's Just That Kind of Day, by [livejournal.com profile] suzannemarie. A day in the life of SG-1 isn't quite as mundane as ours!

Many, many thanks to all you wonderful people for your participation! Here's looking foward to the next Gen Fic Day... not that anyone needs to wait if they want to write more gen! :)

All gratitude and humble thanks to our Benevolent Dictatrix for doing a stellar job, as always, of inspiring use to ever greater heights of gen fic. And then posting round-ups so we don't have to move our own lazy asses to go find all the resulting awesome fic ourselves.

Resounding woot for another awesome gen fic day and soup alphabits serving! Go you and go fandom!

(Oops, I realised that my older fic does have a proper title but that I only put it as the cut-tag label, so it doesn't show up when following a direct link. The title is The Incident of the Cheese Toasties in the Nighttime.)
