...Even if the Sam that usually features on this LJ is a she. :)
My thanks to all of you who left me good wishes! Time to visit
sg1_debrief to see what I've missed. But in the meantime, why not comment here with links to any fics or meta or squee that you've written in the last ten days that you think I'll enjoy?
And don't forget: SG-1 Gen Fic Day is tomorrow, Monday, February 2! Hope you've all been busy in my absence....

Sorry, maybe next time.

My brain seems to have been taken over by... things non-gen, lately, but I will try to get it under control for tomorrow. :)

Here's to gen fic! I look forward to your contribution.

There's been a real dearth of Gen while you were gone, but Lokei wrote a couple of lovely short pieces. They're in the debrief... That was it for gen. Sigh...
Didn't know about Nightspear's new book. Yay!! Off to read...

That was it?! Hey! What about your birthday icon fic (http://aurora-novarum.livejournal.com/85673.html)? Forgotten so soon! *le sigh*
No, I'm not hurt. Not at all...not even a little bit. *sniffle*
Hee.
Seriously to fig, welcome back!!! Glad you're back safely home and hope you had a wonderful time with family and friends.
Other links: supplyship (http://supplyship.livejournal.com/47192.html) and a loquita (http://a-loquita.livejournal.com/57780.html) also just wrote some nice gen fic, but they're *whisper* Jonasfic! *whisper* I highly recommend them, even to Daniel girls. :-D
There's a writing meme going around lj that everyone's doing fig. I even ended up doing a bizarre scriptstyle prequel to Insurance SNAFU in mine (http://aurora-novarum.livejournal.com/85923.html), but I recommend checking out EVERYONE'S. *does love of writing meta dance*
Oh and there's Stargate news (with spoilers) listed at
And
Edited because D'oh! Stupid html fail!

Anyway, I was looking at the debrief, and was struck, once again, by the large number of non-gen stories, and Lokei's gen entries sitting all by themselves. It made me think, "This is what happens when Fig goes away".

I think the multifandom "porn battle" is sucking everyone's attention as well as meta ranging from serious to silly. We genners just have to keep plugging away, since "every day" is Gen Day for us. :-)
*Starts singing the Finding Nemo song: "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming".*

I haven't been holding up my end, either. I haven't posted a real story since boxing day!

I don't have time to visit all the memes, I'm afraid, but I'll check out yours. :)

You can post even WIPs, y'know, although I do hope your fic is finished on time!
Yes, I had fun. :)

Mostly the internet has continued to be eaten alive by racefail'09 and the porn battle, so you probably missed very little you'd be interested in reading. Which I guess is good for short catch-up?
And I finally broke through and wrote something for the first time since early October, but it's emphatically not something you'd be interested in. Now to take that re-found writing ability and apply it to the gen WiPs sitting lonely in the corner of my hard drive.
Regardless, I hope the trip was wonderful and welcome back!

YAY for writing! And don't forget WIPs are also good.
(Yes, the trip was marvelous - first time my family was all together in three years.)

Writing. I'm trying. I'm a bit overwhelmed with writer's block and time constraints (real life has dumped something in my lap that is simultaneously exiting and terrifying and will eat my brain until mid-March) and
(YAY marvelous trip and yay to family togetherness. That would be the problem with spread-out families but it makes the get-togethers all the more sweet)

I've been busy, but have little to show for it thus far. Perhaps I'll post a snippet of my very, very rough in-progress first draft. And a link to something old.

In fact, I'm considering asking specifically for links to personal favorites - both your own, and others'. We might get some great gems that way.
