I know I've been pretty quiet lately aside from recs, but hey -- new ficathon to get off the ground, a Jewish holiday last week, finals time for the older kids -- it all eats up time!

So [community profile] sg1friendathon is now officially in writing time mode. Very excited to see so many participants in a GEN ficathon, whee! I'm used to being to my lonely perch in GenLand (up on the moon, according to Rigel) with my few fellow gen fans. It's enough to make this Benevolent Dicatatrix very happy. :)

If you haven't signed up yet, I hope you'll still consider it. Prompts may technically still be claimed up to July 31st, as long as you're willing to have 1,000 words written by August 1st, heh. I would particularly love to see Cam Mitchell and Janet Frasier get some attention! They've only each been claimed once so far. But with somewhere over 140 prompts still available, you can probably find something to suit your tastes.

I'm doing the Janet & Martouf Ripple Effect AU one :) And I actually started it today while I was supposed to be working on my Star Trek Big Bang. Oops! But I'm *loving* writing it, so that's a Good Thing!

I'm planning to sign up, but I'm holding off until right before I can definitely write, so that I'm really sure. So many fabulous prompts!

Gen in general makes me curl up and purr like a cat. I'm really looking forward to all the resulting fics.

...and probably going to end up nabbing a second prompt as soon as I finish my first one, 'cause I just feel bad about the crap I'm pulling in the first one. Dammit, kids. Stop living in a broken universe.

I love happy accidents. (I swear that the characters and my brain know more than I ever will. I can't begin to list all the times they've taken completely unrelated bits of information and then combined them into some sort of Unified Theory of Whatever while I sit there and go "Wait... what?")

...I really miss that mirror.

I don't think I've said yet, but I'm so glad that you're running this fest! I wasn't the fandom last time this happened and while the masterlist was like finding hidden treasure, I'm really excited to see the fest actually go live :)

I'm hoping so very much for another round of galpalficathon! That is so up my alley.

Also, if you ever need help rebooting any of these wonderful gen-related things, feel free to ask. I like at least a little bit of everything, although I'm usually to be found enabling podfic in one way or another :P

Isn't that what podders do every day, sign-up to record other people's fic? :P

I may have been eyeing a few of your stories? Deity only knows if I'll get to even a quarter of the stories on my "To Record" list, but I've seen your name on the blanket permission list and that's always extra incentive!

I'll be sure to keep you in the loop :)

Matching would be the time consuming part of the fest, but probably do-able! [personal profile] paraka and the podmods do it annually for various challenges. The tricky part, from my perspective, is that so many podficcers aren't writers, or they might dabble in writing, but don't want to put their fic forward (that'd be me!) I'm not sure that I'd be comfortable running something like that, but the idea has got some awesome potential for podficcer-writers/writer-podficcers.
