Crickets chirping...? Appeal for gen fic! (Let's call it SG-1 Gen Fic Day.)

I have the immense privilege of tagging for sg1_debrief, which mostly entails skimming through the newsletter's flist in search of gen fic. (The maintainers do the really hard work, and I think the other taggers cope with a lot more volume than I do.) There's always less gen fic than ship fic, but I'm resigned to that as par for the course by now.

But what's going on here, people?

Since the 17th, there has been one gen fic posted throughout all of LJ SG-1 fandom that gets tagged for the newsletter. ONE. (Thanks for that, dknightshade! I don't follow the jack_built AU, but it was a fun snippet.)

So here's my appeal: write some gen fic today, please! It can be commentfic posted here, or a drabble on your LJ, or a snippet of your current WIP. Fic recs are good, too, like the ones posted below: here and here. Anything. Gen is the one kind of fic that embraces all aspects of the fandom, so let's have some SG-1 love!

Erm... but not that kind. :)

WIP Snippet for Gen Fic Day: Triptych

I said I'd post something gennish today, but as Sunday is a regular workday for me, there wasn't much time. (I also spent copious amounts of fandom time squeeing and reading everyone else's offerings!) So in honor of Gen Fic Day - and thanks to moonshayde for the name! -  here's a bit from my oldest WIP. It's my first SG-1 fic, in fact, which still is nowhere near being finished! If you don't care about the storyline, just skip down to the second LJ cut.

And yes, the Superman of Lois and Clark had brown eyes, not blue ones. Clark was played by Dean Cain, who is part Japanese. Many fanboys never, ever got over that. :)
