[livejournal.com profile] splash_the_cat has opened [livejournal.com profile] sg1podfic for business! While I'm fairly confident that a lot of the fics that are going to be podcasted will probably not be to my personal taste, I'm very excited about this. The better fanfics out there are oodles better than most of the stuff being published, so why not enjoy listening to something that's genuinely good?

Thanks to Julie for doing all the hard work in setting this up so neatly! And go join, people - and volunteer to make recordings and allow your fics to be recorded.

Ha! I just posted about this too!

*bounces*

I certainly won't be complaining if long plotty fics are recorded :D Or fic of the Gen persuasion.

I don't know if I'd want my PWP fic indulgences read aloud to me...

Heh, yes. I've come across that sentiment several times when I tag for [livejournal.com profile] sg1_debrief - people don't mind reading or writing NC-17 stuff, but they think that reading it, or listening to it read aloud, might be just a tad uncomfortable.

I've signed up my fics for podcasting already. I would love for Ninja Style to be podcasted by someone who can do Teal'c's deadpan just right. :)

might be just a tad uncomfortable.

I'll say!

I don't think I could actually read a smutty scene in a straight voice... And if I was listening to it on the train! *squirms*

And deadpan Teal'c is absolutely something readers need to practise. It's a subtle yet necessary art.

Eeee! I can't wait to see what fic gets done!

Hey, something that will make people agree gen is superior! :)

(I hadn't really had the idea of podfics *click* but...thinking about it, yeah, it could be awesome)

Heh. Maybe we'll get lots and lots of gen while people think about the audio aspect of the non-gen stuff?

I would love to be able to listen to my favorite fics - while I'm exercising, or folding laundry, or whatever. I hope it takes off. :)

We can hope.
I know someone did [livejournal.com profile] ltlj's "Retrograde" recently and I've been meaning to track it down.

I'm thinking it'll also be awesome for car trips...if, you know, it's only me in the car :)
