I put up the sign-up post for Season Two at [livejournal.com profile] redial_the_gate only an hour ago. Nine of the recaps have already been snagged.

If you're interested in recapping for Season Two, you might want to sign up right now. :)

(ETA: at the two hour mark, only eight episodes left: The Serpent's Lair (!), The Gamekeeper, Need (!!), Thor's Chariot, Family, Bane, Holiday, Serpent's Song.)

(ETA2: three hours, and I cannot step away from my computer. It's way too much fun! Every time I blink, someone else volunteers or squees... Only four left now, including, astonishingly enough, The Serpent's Lair and Need - two which I expected to be among the first to be sntached. Family and Holiday are still available, too. And, of course, meta posts are always welcome!)

Speaking as one of the mods, it's been a wonderful first season - and that's due to all the participants, who recapped and metaed and commented and made the whole experience so much fun. This is fandom at its best. Thanks, guys. :)

I keep *staring* at Gamekeeper and Holiday (and Serpent's Song) (and Thor's Chariot)

quick! someone grab 'em before I do!
Thursday, December 6th, 2007 08:11 pm (UTC)
Oh, come on! Treat yourself! Even I nobly waited fifteen whole minutes before signing up. :)

I was very impressed by your self-control.

I promise nothing when it comes to me doing season three. :-) Well, maybe I'll wait five. ;-)

The Serpent's Lair and Need - two which I expected to be among the first to be sntached. Family and Holiday are still available, too.

Wow. I really expected someone from the Jack/Daniel contingent to grab "Need" right away.
Also...HOLIDAY! Gah!
(huh, you know, of those three, Family is the only one I would have expected to last this long)

See, the problem is that Season Two is too good. Practically every single episode is a fan favorite!

::hugs S2::

But yes, I was astonished to see Need and Serpent's Lair and Holiday end up among the last ones. Family doesn't surprise me - not because Teal'c doesn't get loved enough (although more Teal'c love is always good!) but because Jaffa backstory certainly isn't everyone's favorite.

Daniel and ice cream! C'mon, people, that one's still available...
Thursday, December 6th, 2007 09:23 pm (UTC)
Yep. And "Family" isn't particularly good Jaffa backstory - especially the bit where you hit a kid with a zat and erase all mental conditioning instantly with no lasting consequences. Um.

Holiday! Daniel with ice cream on his nose! Sam at Daniels' bedside (the only time they kiss)! Teal'c trying to shave Jack's head! Jack trying to kel'noreem. Heck, the introduction (I think) OF Kel'noreem!

C'mon, people, don't make me regret taking Gamekeeper!

Oh, the best part of the ep was how seamlessly all the actors fit into each other's characters. Mannerisms, tones of speech - everything. Loved every minute of it, even if Machello did make me cringe when he made Daniel act so utterly dopey. :)

Fred was cute though.

Yeah, I liked him a lot. "Don't hurt him, he's a hero!" And he was right, even if Machello suffered from a lot more than PTSD.

I'm stunned that Serpent's Lair lasted this long...but I'm not tempting fate further. It's little DVD track is mineminemine! *g*

I can't figure it out either - except that everyone was politely waiting for you to sign up for it. :)

Well, sure because fig had to go blab it was open. (just kidding, fig!). I was secretly hoping people wouldn't notice it was still there (or get confused by all the snakes and not realize it was the BESTEST EPISODE EVAR!).

But I'm very happy you grabbed it, redbyrd. It seems so...apropos. :-)

Aurora, go and grab a recap RIGHT NOW before it's too late!

And LOL, I have no idea why some of the most fanficed episodes took so long to get taken! Although, to be fair, "so long" in this case means - what? Four hours since I first posted? And only two left?

Clearly, [livejournal.com profile] redial_the_gate is made of win. :)

CLEARLY!

*loves on the mods*

Cake for everybody!

Nah, I told you guys in the mod comm, I was the only one who got to sign up for season 1. Heck I was the first volunteer ever! (Remember when we thought we'd have to be filling in lots with recaps due to a *lack* of volunteers?) LOL

It's only fair to let others play in Season Two. I'm holding back. (190 MEMBERS!?! Are you getting ready for the crackfic challenge yet?)

But, season three, all bets are off. I've already got my eye on a meta and playing eenie meanie with a few different S3 eps. *eg*

Since it was a tag for this episode that was my very first ever SG-1 fic? The one that started me off on my (so far) 35-completed-fics, 100000 word-plus odyssey? Not to mention introducing me to so many charming and talented people?

It's very apropos indeed. What an astonishing three and a half years it has been!

(And I'll say it again- this is a lovely community- I'm so pleased to have a chance to squee from the beginning, since I was such a latecomer to the party. *g*)
