Stargate Fan Awards winners announced!

The winners of the 2007 Stargate Fan Awards have been posted! And I'm gloating, because my ever-talented corner of the fandom has made a marvelous showing. Congratulations to Abyssis and Aelfgyfu and Annerb and Cleo and Emily and Gillian and Jenn and Ivory Gates and Kellifer and Moonshayde and Paian and Random and Rydra Wong and Redbyrd, who also won a Special Award as Best Author! There might be even more of you whose nicks I don't recognize, but I'm proud to see that I evidently have impeccable taste in friends. :)

And, er... ::clears throat:: To quote Lois Lane, I am "stunned, shocked, in need of oxygen." Wow. Thank you, everyone who voted for The Importance of Past and Future.

Might I suggest dropping a note to the Awards Team and thanking them for all their hard work? To quote their announcement: after compiling nearly 17,000 votes cast by over 3000 people for some 2500 nominations in a total of 276 categories...

May the squee go ever on and on! :)

ETA: I don't quite remember everything I voted for (and I can't remember if I saved my votes to my HD, nor figure out how to access my votes at the website), but I am quite pleased to see the absolutely hilarious Ancient bumper sticker by Rogue Dragon won. I wanted to post a link to it at the time, but I was afraid it might break SFA rules on campaigning. But now I can urge you to all to click on the the link and laugh.

Thank you.. but I should point out that it was one story that got top votes in the gen story category (talk about ::thud::!), not a best author award.

And you know? I don't think it's a coincidence that your corner of the fandom is so well-represented... there's this person who's written all these terrific recs, bringing us readership. :)

Oh, first off, loved the bumper sticker! I don't put 'em on my car, but if I had that one, I'd probably make an exception.
Wonderful to see some folks I adore on the win list. 'Much Abides' is a personal favorite, I got into little Daniel stuff because of authors like Darcy, Sami'J and Devra; they rule that genre!
Congrats to all the winners, saw some stuff I'd read and some I hadn't. I can see where I'm going to spend my weekend.

Yes, awards like these can be a marvelous resource for discovering new fic. When I first got into the fandom, I went on a spree of link-clicking from the SFA.

And if I had a car to put bumper stickers on, I'd consider it, too. :)
