Signups for Season Four is now available at [livejournal.com profile] redial_the_gate!

As always, they are going like hotcakes. :) If you want to claim an ep to recap, do it right now. :)

Meta posts are always welcome, too - there's less urgency for those, because multiple meta essays are allowed per episode. But if you want to complain about the length of Sam's hair (or Daniel's sideburns), or praise the actual accuracy in Tangent, or mock the Russian accents in Watergate - well, go for it. :)

I love Redial. It is fandom at its warmest and brightest and most squeeful!

ETA: Two hours since the claims post first went up, and only six recaps are left - including The Light (?!), so you'd better hurry!

ETA2: Just two ep recaps left: Crossroads and Prodigy. Jaffa revenge thing! And c'mon, who's going to recap Mary Sue Hailey and talk me into watching the ep for the first time...? :)

*loves Daniel's sideburns*

Oh, I wasn't complaining. It was just an example. I'll take Daniel any way we can get him!

I love Redial the Gate, too. It's a great idea and a great comm--thanks to all who make it so.

And I have to admit to a strong dislike of Daniel's sideburns. I can't say I ever really disliked Jack's hair, thru all 8 seasons, though I thought it Too Short some of seasons 7 and 8. Still, it's Jack, it's usually messy, what's not to like?! Sam's hair I have issues with now and then, and Teal'c...well...

It's SG1--I love almost all of it!

It's SG1

What more needs to be said? :D

Sam's hair AND Teal'c's chin caterpillar!

(early season 4 was not good for hair)

Man, Tangent was awesome. But I resisted. Because. SERPENT'S VENOM!

gonna bounce around now...

SQUEE

I... I blanked out the caterpillar. ::hangs head in shame::

We need a meta for that - theories as to why Teal'c grew it, and who drugged his ice cream so they could shave it off without risking bodily harm.

It's not quite as glaringly obvious or quite as hideous as Sam's hair. I still think in "Beneath the Surface" when they got mindwashed, Sam and Teal'c also got attacked by barbers.

[wasn't there some story about, near the end of S7, CJ going to some producer and asking if he can FINALLY have hair and the producer looked at him confused and said they'd been fine with him having hair for years now. or something?]

New director, I think. The old one always said no. The new one said, "Sure, why not?" Or something. :)

Is that really when Teal'c lost the caterpillar? If so, hilarious!
Thursday, November 13th, 2008 07:00 pm (UTC)
Yep. Teal'c lost his caterpillar AND Sam suddenly had really short hair (possibly my favorite cut of hers) when that ep opened with them in the food line. That's why I always assumed it was something to do with that planet (like Hathor sending a crazy Romulan with a weed-whacker at Daniel's head end of S2)

I thought they'd finally given in after years of hearing him beg.

Poor Chris.

I think he made out better than Jason Momoa though who now is stuck with an ugly mopwig after he had to cut his dreads for his own health.
Thursday, November 13th, 2008 05:49 pm (UTC)
his own health?

Thursday, November 13th, 2008 05:52 pm (UTC)
Momoa was having neck problems and massive headaches that were traced to the big ass weight of hair on his head. So he shaved off the dreads during hiatus.

Producers didn't have a problem with it and were going to write it in the third ep of the series, but SciFi pitched a fit, and so now he's stuck with an ugly wig.

I dunno. Probably various answers.

Yeah. That think with Jason was DUMB DUMB DUMB. Just let him have the shorter hair already. Fans won't get that confused, really. But I guess Ronon has to keep looking like an exotic barbarian. Stupid.

(why don't I have a Ronon icon? So wrong)

Pretty sure I read about that recently in an interview. I'll try to remember where. :)

*glares at you*

I can't recap because I claimed alien satellite sex, but I'm writing an ENTIRE META about Hailey-who-is-definitely-not-a-Mary-Sue and maybe I'll sit you down when I'm in your part of the world and make you watch it :)
(and Gemini! *squees over Gemini* is it S8 yet? How about now? Now?)
Thursday, November 13th, 2008 07:04 pm (UTC)
Yay for meta!

We'll see about watching the ep. ;)

Gemini! I leave it in your most-talented hands... in other four seasons.

Don't say ka (or call Mary Sues) until you've tried it. ;-)

::sporfles::

One of these days, I will make myself an icon with that line. :)

I liked a lot of Prodigy. Admittedly, when I rewarch it now I usually fast forward past Hailey's parts until they get to the planet, but I still enjoy a lot of this episode, particularly the Jack in command of the scientists bits, and the hilarious part where he's counting back from 3 but Teal'c doesn't wait. I loved that!

The best Hailey is in Proving Ground, though, which I loved from start to finish. It's one of my (many) favorite episodes.
