Finally. FINALLY, after being stalled for two solid weeks at the halfway point, my
sd_ficathon has been packed off to the beta reader!
I will have to consider this a practical lesson; this is my first ficathon, after all. But next time I do something like this on a deadline, I am going to stick to the "1,000 word minimum" ballpark figure instead of allowing Sam and Daniel to whap me over the head with my keyboard and run off gleefully with the plotline, leaving me stuck with a fic that clocks in at over 17,000 words before my wonderful beta gets her hands on it. I'm all for long stories, and I'm cautiously pleased with the results, but not when the fic is due five days for now!
Still need a title. My titles either leap into my brain before the first paragraph gets written or sulk in a corner, refusing to come out.
How about you, my fellow Sam and Daniel fans? Have the Wonder Twins waylaid you, or do you think you'll be ready to post on the 15th?

Or a crack!fic, which wouldn't be so bad, either. :)
And I say yay! for the deadline, because it will let me play with tweaking intead of shoving it out into the cold without buttoning it up securely.
...Er. Lost my metaphor, there.

You are evil, you know that?
And I followed your metaphor fine. :-D
P.S. Az'heni is what taught me to never go overly long on a ficathon again (though you'd think the FOUR part Teal'c one should've clued me in, LOL). But your story sounds super awesome. I love reading long fics...and medium fics, and short fics. :-D

I think I'm sensing a trend, here.
