Oh, wow.

Just finished watching COTG so I can gleefully take part in this week's [profile] redial_the_gate. Walter with hair! Bright-eyed Sam! Hammond wrestling with his duties and the trust that was given him three decades ago! Daniel and his notebook and the instant Wonder Twins bonding, and "the man does not change"! Five with-all-due-resepcts, one ya-think? and two for-cryin'-out-louds! Tears in my eyes when Teal'c gave Sam his staff weapon. Jack and Kawalsky and Skaara and oooooh... ::happy, happy sigh::

Can't wait for [profile] pepper_field's recap and the wonderful discussion we're sure to have. If you haven't joined us yet, there's still time!

And a new factoid I'd never noticed before: it's officially "Abydon" and not "Abydonian." Jack uses the term at the post-mission briefing when he talks about "the Abydon boys." Good to know for future fic-writing references!

Hee, it's all too cute, isn't it? They all look so young and dewy-eyed.

I will post the recap / fanworks things in approx. 2-and-a-bit hrs, incidentally - lunchtime-ish in US, 6pm-ish where I am, and... evening where you are? Hopefully not too late in the day for you to join in the squee.

Especially Teal'c. CJ has aged beautifully, but whew! He was really a kid then, wasn't he?

I'm only two hours ahead of you, so yes! Lots and lots and lots of time for squee. :)

I always thought Abydon was the adjective (like "Abydon BOYS"), but Abydonian was the noun.

We need to save discussion like this for the redial. ;-)

How often is the adjective different than the noun? Terran vs Earthling or whatever, but usually it's the same term for both, isn't it?

But, yes. Save this for the redial. Along with lots and lots of fun questions that will probably all end up being answered with a single word: "Handwave." :)

Hoorah for Annerb's idea - the 'handwave' drinking game. Everytime a question has to be answered with a handwave, take a shot. :D

By the end of CotG, what with all the stuff they revised from the movie, and revised again later in the series, we'd all be plastered.

Wasn't it wonderful - especially the Wonder Twin bonding? *squishes them*

it's officially "Abydon" and not "Abydonian."

Really? Doh! But I don't *want* to go edit all my fics....maybe Jack got it wrong? I swear Daniel has said "Abydonian" somewhere...

Well... we could always handwave that it was Jack. Jack likes mangling names.

We can keep an eye out for it, along with the FCOL and WADR and YT counts!

Very, very true.

We can keep an eye out for it, along with the FCOL and WADR and YT counts!

along with "I have no idea"? :)
(also, I'm watching to finally hear Carter say "Holy Hannah" because I've never caught it)

I don't think Daniel says "I have no idea" more than once per episode, at the very most. The others can mount up rather rapidly.

I think the very first "Holy Hannah!" is in Cold Lazarus. We'll know in a month or two! :)

Fair enough. At least we aren't counting "Indeed"....or are we? :)

YAY COLD LAZARUS! *bounces*
(and someday I will find the time to really read all the COTG comments - stupid busy real life)

Bwah! YES YES YES we MUST count indeeds! It's not too late to start, either, since he hasn't said it yet.

There's a hilarious clip somewhere on YouTube that's just Teal'c saying "Indeed" over and over and over and over...

I tracked the recap thread. It's the only way I can stay on top of things, and well worth it!

(At least check out PdL's dictionary...)
