Crickets chirping...? Appeal for gen fic! (Let's call it SG-1 Gen Fic Day.)

I have the immense privilege of tagging for sg1_debrief, which mostly entails skimming through the newsletter's flist in search of gen fic. (The maintainers do the really hard work, and I think the other taggers cope with a lot more volume than I do.) There's always less gen fic than ship fic, but I'm resigned to that as par for the course by now.

But what's going on here, people?

Since the 17th, there has been one gen fic posted throughout all of LJ SG-1 fandom that gets tagged for the newsletter. ONE. (Thanks for that, dknightshade! I don't follow the jack_built AU, but it was a fun snippet.)

So here's my appeal: write some gen fic today, please! It can be commentfic posted here, or a drabble on your LJ, or a snippet of your current WIP. Fic recs are good, too, like the ones posted below: here and here. Anything. Gen is the one kind of fic that embraces all aspects of the fandom, so let's have some SG-1 love!

It's weird. I know that on my journal I've been squeeing a lot about my current casual shows - shows I just watch for fun or that I really love and am not fannish about. But SG-1 is the show/fandom I am fannish about. I just haven't posted much about it lately.

I wonder if there are others who are the same. People who really love the show and the fandom, but just aren't fannish publicly at this very second.

I'm not sure what causes people to get quiet, other than real life issues.... That's what''s been up with me. Mostly I write and post fic, and if I can't do that, I meta. But I'm sure there are as many ways of doing fandom as there are fans.
