Crickets chirping...? Appeal for gen fic! (Let's call it SG-1 Gen Fic Day.)

I have the immense privilege of tagging for sg1_debrief, which mostly entails skimming through the newsletter's flist in search of gen fic. (The maintainers do the really hard work, and I think the other taggers cope with a lot more volume than I do.) There's always less gen fic than ship fic, but I'm resigned to that as par for the course by now.

But what's going on here, people?

Since the 17th, there has been one gen fic posted throughout all of LJ SG-1 fandom that gets tagged for the newsletter. ONE. (Thanks for that, dknightshade! I don't follow the jack_built AU, but it was a fun snippet.)

So here's my appeal: write some gen fic today, please! It can be commentfic posted here, or a drabble on your LJ, or a snippet of your current WIP. Fic recs are good, too, like the ones posted below: here and here. Anything. Gen is the one kind of fic that embraces all aspects of the fandom, so let's have some SG-1 love!

Erm... but not that kind. :)

I don't know if you've ever read this fic, but I just posted this rec on my LJ:

I've been meaning to rec this for a while, but I keep forgetting. Of course, I may be biased because I hounded the author to write me Jackfic, but it's good stuff. The fic is Gen, Jack-centric, with a Jack/Daniel friendship focus. It has some lovely original characters and whumped Jack to boot! And while Jack and Jack/Daniel friendship is the focus, there is team love wrapped up neatly inside :)
