Someone who writes science better than I do, please incorporate this fascinating technology into a fic in which, say, the SGC can communicate with the host of Apophis. Or Ba'al. Or Sha're in Amaunet. Something.

Interesting, but given that approximately 99% of all science reporting (even in otherwise-good newspapers and blogs) inevitably exaggerate or misrepresent the results in some critical fashion, I'm not holding my breath.

I mean, it would be a great fic plot, but that doesn't require the actual real-world technology to be up to snuff.

Of course this is likely (probably) not precisely what is being developed, but Stargate has always perfected that important technology known as "handwave," so...

The sheer potential of this tech, if it becomes reality, is breathtaking. But for our purposes, yes, it's just a fun inspiration.

Oh I love reading stuff like this and getting all excited about the implications for fics :)

In my Sunday School class we just finished a monthlong study of Native American Spirituality and archaeoastronomy and man, does it ever get the braincells working. Of course, I probably should really be focusing my mind on higher things rather than thinking...hm...this is a great starting point for a fic.

There's a real joy in discovering the beauties of creation, I say. And if you take that and apply it to fic as well... well, I won't tell anyone. ;)
