[profile] sd_ficathon and Isis Awards

A quick perusal through my f-list shows an almost universal blocking for the [info]sd_ficathon fics. I have to admit that it makes me squeeful to see how much of a labor of love this is for all of us, and how much we all want to get our stories right for Sam and Daniel's sakes. My own fic is meandering way off course before I even get to the half-way point, which may or may not be a bad thing. At least Daniel has solved some of my major plot issues for me, which was considerate of him. :)

Isis Awards nominees are up, and... wow. And, ::thud::. I am speechless, and you wonderful people who nominated me have not only made my morning, but my whole week. I can't believe that my first tentative foray into SG-1 fic has received such a wonderful response. If the people who nominated The Importance of Past and Future were hoping to inspire me to write more, then they've definitely succeeded! Thank you very, very much for this astonishing compliment.

...How ironic is it that of the three other fics in that category, two are on my "to rec when I do a month of Sha're" list? I'm just proud to be in such lovely company! Congratulations to all the nominees, a large number of which seem to be on my f-list. Clearly I have impeccable taste, even for a gen girl. :)

Can your Daniel come over and play with mine and hopefully fix my issues? LOL

Actually, I started writing a S9 teamy fic, and the beginning part was all just Sam and Daniel...more than I planned and keeping me from the heart of my (supposedly short funny) story. So I think I may just tweak it and move it to part of my almost on the verge of a plotty idea for the ficathon fic(who knew insomnia and watching the History channel could be inspiring?) and start my S9 fic.

Though my not quite fitting with the prompt plot idea still isn't leaving me, but I still want to try and fit the plot. Sigh, I'm probably going to end up writing two, even if I don't enter it in the ficathon. Two S/D fics for the price of one? That can't be too bad, um, right?

Um...that all makes sense in my head...really! Sorry, just thinking out loud (seriously, if your Daniel is still being cooperative, send him over when he's free. I can use all the help I can get! Heh).

Congrats on your noms, fig! I'm not surprised at all, your writing has been wonderful. And thanks for linking to the site. It'll be fun to look at when I get a chance.

He was being cooperative then. Now his motives are getting all murky, and he's sulking a bit. I'm not supposed to go for the angst, but he's trying to insist on having some. I'm not so sure I can argue the point, either. ::glares at muse::

I'm still overwhelmed at the nom - especially for me, the postergirl for gen! - but it's interesting to see the different niches that quietly exist in the fandom and don't get a chance to share the spotlight. But really, Daniel and Vala being a side pairing? I don't see that one at all.
