A year ago today, some lovely anonymous person gifted me and several others in the SG-1 fandom with a year's Premium Account. I wallowed in all those icons and enjoyed the ability to post polls. There are lots of other perks to paid accounts, but those were the ones that mattered most to me, although I'll probably miss the larger number of tracked comments, too.

Back to Basic now, sigh. But I did want to thank whoever-you-are again for giving me such a lovely gift.

And now I'm wondering if anyone knows how to choose which icons should be active? I don't see any rhyme or reason to the ones that were rendered inactive and those that are still usable (outside the default icon, of course - that one's kinda obvious). I could open a support request to ask, but I prefer the grand old tradition of asking my reading circle first. :)

I can't help it if I'm childish. :) I love LJ Toys and it's been a source of frustration for me that so many of those conveniences aren't available here at DW.

But now, now we get expansion of cuts right on the page, without having to open up a new tab! I am SO HAPPY. If you haven't yet noticed the difference, click on those cute little arrows next to the cuts and see for yourself!

Now if we could just find a way to get notified when the reading page updates, I'll be completely satisfied... :)

Eeee! I'm on Dreamwidth for real!

Fig Newton

I'm excited about this: fandom friendly, deliciously long entries ([livejournal.com profile] stargate_summer fics will fit into a single post), active and enthusiastic creators and maintainers.

I'm not running away from LJ - I'm here for the fandom, and unless and until [livejournal.com profile] sg1_debrief and [livejournal.com profile] redial_the_gate and my fantastic corner of SG-1 fandom emigrates en masse, I will be mirroring on both sites.

Also, a small PSA: if you created an OpenID account and are having trouble with modifying your profile and/or uploading userpics (as I was), try disabling any Greasemonkey scripts that deal with LJ as well as your Firefox extensions/add-ons. That's what did the trick for me.

On a more SG-1 related note, [livejournal.com profile] samjackfriends has really awesome fic (that I haven't been able to read yet, grumble)! I'm only online this week - technically, anyway - Sunday through Tuesday. I rather expect to only be able to make flyby visits, both here and to my new DW journal. But in the meantime, one of those [livejournal.com profile] samjackfriends fics are mine. :) I think author-reveals take place some time on Monday, but if you'd care to guess which story I wrote before that time, and you get it right, I will offer you a ficlet. ([livejournal.com profile] jacksamfriends mods are disqualified, heh.) Mind you, I am not giving any kind of estimate as to when the ficlet will get written, but we can at least try for, say, within half a calendar year...

My thanks to all the good wishes on last week's post, and I hope those of you who are celebrating Pesach are having as lovely a time as I am. Perhaps less frantically busy, though. :)
